We’re planning to launch our Grid Iron Canteen at this year’s Kilnsey Show by creating a canteen style pop up in the local food village.
We want to bring a selection of our food, all made with carefully selected local produce, paired with local brewed beers. So far this is what we’re planning.
Top Dogs
Our own version of the hot dog, made with Yorkshire Dales Longhorn beef, outdoor bred, free range pork and smoked bacon. Lovingly made into a sausage with the flavour of a hot dog, grilled and nestled in a locally baked roll. (more about Top Dogs)
The Stray Dog – Just the dog, in a bun… add some French’s mustard or Ketchup.
The Chili Dog – Topped with our own Longhorn beef chili, chopped onion and Swaledale Cheddar.

Longhorn Chili con Carne
A bowl of chili made with Malhamdale Longhorn beef, topped with a blob of soured cream and served with corn chips.

Mac ‘n’ Cheese
We’ll be serving our own special Mac ‘n’ Cheese as a main dish or a side – made with Dale End Cheddar and milk from Dales Dairies in Grassington
Our chef for the day will be Phil from The George Hotel in Cullingworth, home of Old Spot Brewery. Phil is a young and talented chef, used to working under pressure and passionate about sourcing the best local ingredients for the busy kitchen at The George.
